Born and raised in NYC, and a graduate of Emerson College in Boston, Jill received her B.A. in TV/Radio/Film with a concentration in TV and Broadcasting. Shortly after graduating, she relocated to Los Angeles to pursue her career.
Jill's first several years in L.A. were spent broadening her knowledge of the entertainment industry. She worked as an agent's assistant at several talent agencies such as ICM, worked on the productions of feature films and music videos, and climbed the ladder from P.A. to Production Manager. Additionally she spent some time as a post production coordinator for Disney promos. Looking for more creative work to cut her teeth on, Jill went to work for a producer who she developed various television and film projects for.
Next came 3 successive feature films for which Jill was the UPM. It was then that Jill decided to pursue some of her other passions. She moved away from the world of 35 millimeter cameras and celluloid to the immediate gratification of videotape. Having been a fitness instructor since graduating college, she put her knowledge to work writing and associate producing TV segments called "Healthy Living" for Body By Jake. Next Jill stepped around to the other side of the camera and began on-air hosting and reporting.
In 1998 Jill began hosting and producing a news magazine show for the City of El Segundo's cable channel. Two years later, Jill was offered a Weekend Anchor and Weekday General Assignment Reporter position at KREX-TV, the CBS affiliate in Grand Junction, CO. It was a "one man band" gig where Jill was tasked with being her own producer, writer, camera-woman and editor. Her specialty was and still is, health and fitness reporting, but she also covered the court-reporting beat and had a popular weekend feature called "Pet of the Week" in which she helped the local animal shelters adopt before they were euthanized.
Jill moved back to L.A. in 2002 and resumed freelancing as a writer, producer and host. She became the in-house Senior Producer and Writer for TVA Productions working on corporate marketing videos, video news releases (VNRs), infomercials, and short form DR spots.
After producing and writing her first long-form infomercial, Jill was hooked and decided to set her focus on that niche industry. She has marketed products ranging from health supplements, books, financial products and fitness systems. Thanks to her vast knowledge of production, broadcasting and her expertise, Jill became a consultant for Guthy-Renker.
Jill currently writes, produces and hosts various shows for a number of DR marketing companies.
